The Estee Lauder Companies participates in UN General Assembly

THE WHAT? The Estee Lauder Companies has announced that it led, convened and participated in several events as part of the recent 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

THE DETAILS As part of the week, ELC partnered with the UN Foundation to host The Power of Partnerships: Advancing Gender Equality and Impacts, an event driving conversation across multilateral leaders for the advancement of women across the globe. Leaders from ELC, government, and civil society, joined by Estée Lauder Global Changemaker and National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman, convened to highlight the partnerships building equality through inclusive system changes.

The US prestige beauty manufacturer also hosted a special event at its corporate HQ and several executives spoke at events that took place during the UNGA, including forums on sustainable packaging and ESG.

THE WHY? Through continued collaborations like those activated through UNGA week, ELC is able to be a part of long-lasting, systemic change, the company said in a statement. Sara Moss, ELC’s Vice Chairman, comments, “We’re honored to be activating and expanding partnerships with the UN Foundation and others to advocate for gender equality. It is partnerships like these that will enable us to realize the change we seek to create in the world.”
