The Estée Lauder Companies partners with Florida A&M University on program to build next generation of Black beauty leaders in travel retail

THE WHAT? The Estée Lauder Companies has announced a new talent and development program in partnership with Florida A&M University (FAMU), which aims to build the next generation of Black beauty leaders in travel retail.

THE DETAILS ELC has created an exclusive internship and scholarship program with the university, furthering the company’s goal to double full time and intern recruits from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

The 10-week program will see Florida A&M University’s rising juniors and seniors getting a look at ELC’s travel retail arm via placements in the company’s New York and Miami offices. 

According to a press release, “Students will be exposed to the dynamic, international channel and have a chance to learn how to build brand equity and market share by catering to the diverse, traveling consumer. In addition, 41 merit scholarships of US$10,000 will be awarded to students in the University’s School of Business and Industry over the course of five years by Florida A&M University on behalf of The Estée Lauder Companies.”

THE WHY? The program furthers ELC’s goal to double full time and intern recruits from HBCUs.
