The Estee Lauder Companies has been named America’s Best Employer for Women 2019 in a list compiled by Forbes magazine. The US prestige beauty manufacturer climbed 21 places to top the chart.
“It appears that the beauty brand has taken care to cultivate a culture that supports female employees: 84 percent of its workforce, 53 percent of its vice president-and-above executives and 43 percent of its board of directors are women,” wrote Forbes Associate Editor Vicky Valet.
“We were founded by a woman – this is just a natural part of our DNA,” Alexandra Trower, Executive Vice President of Global Communications at The Estee Lauder Companies told Forbes. “One of the benefits of being at a family company is family values underpin everything we do.”
Lauder wasn’t the only beauty business to make the top 20 – Ulta Beauty was named second, Unilever sixth and Sephora came in 20th.
