THE WHAT? Actress and wellness entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow has had her hit show The Goob Lab confirmed for a second season on Netflix, according to Variety.com.
THE DETAILS The show, which focuses on wellness, beauty, sex and intimacy, has been confirmed for a further six, 30-minute long episodes with a release date yet to be set.
Paltrow will return as a host, alongside show regulars Goop Chief Content Officer Elise Loehnen and Shauna Minoprio.
THE WHY? The return of show highlights the rise and rise of the wellness industry, with Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop, which is currently valued at $250 million, surging in popularity since its inception as a newsletter.
During the course of The Goob Lab’s first series, Paltrow was accused of pushing pseudoscience, with the Actress retorting to Variety, “I will never understand the level of fascination and projection. But we don’t want to not change the conversation just to please everybody.
“We do what we do in total integrity, and we love what we do. It doesn’t even matter, really, that some are trying to get attention for writing about us.”
