Sephora has been named as the retailer providing the ‘most personalized customer experience’, according to a report published by Business Insider.
The LVMH-owned perfumery chain came out on top of Sailthru’s first annual Retail Personalization Index, which is based on a survey of more than 13,000 US and UK-based shoppers. The survey tracks the performance of 100 retailers across four categories: website, email, mobile and other.
Sephora’s use of data gathered via its Beauty Insider program enables it to send personalized recommendations and communications, while Wal-Mart, who was ranked third overall and first in the mobile category, was rated highly for its app, which enables customers to track spending as well as order prescription refills.
