THE WHAT? Turkey’s e-commerce giant Trendyol has entered the European market with a new website that will serve 27 countries.
THE DETAILS Covering the likes of the UK, Spain and Italy, Trendyol will initially launch with limited categories, selling items such as clothing and cosmetics.
Items will be priced in euros with 5-7 day delivery times, with further categories set to be added in the future.
WHY? The development into the European market marks the next step in a period of growth for Trendyol, with the company having raised funding from the likes of Tiger Global and venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins since its launch in 2010, with Alibaba becoming a strategic partner for the company in 2018.
