Modern Muse has announced that it has received funding from the UK National Lottery, which will enable it to invest in growth. Its work to reach young girls and guide their career decisions takes place via schools, further education institutions, universities, social media channels, online influencers, and collaborations with girls and STEM-focused youth organizations.
The charity has set ambitious targets to tell one million girls about its work to raise aspirations, smash stereotypes and shift social expectations by 2020, and to sign up 10,000 role model muses to its mobile platform.
“We are literally thrilled to receive this funding from the Big Lottery Fund in our first year. This is the best Christmas present we could have wished for and the grant will help us with our ambitions to reach one million girls by 2020. We aim to level the playing field so that girls from all backgrounds, including those without connected parents, can see what they can be and then access career opportunities with fantastic companies that champion diversity,” said Donna Robertson, Director of Modern Muse.
