THE WHAT? The UK government has updated its guidance for placing manufactured products on the market in Great Britain.
THE DETAILS The new regulations require manufacturers to apply for the UKCA mark for any goods placed on the GB market from 11pm on December 31, 2022. Manufacturers must ensure that their products meet GB rules, even if they were previously sold in an EU country.
THE WHY? The UKCA marking replaces the CE marking for products being placed on the GB market following the UK’s departure from the European Union in 2020.
