THE WHAT? Unilever is carrying out a strategic review of its health and beauty brands, according to a report published by The Times.
THE DETAILS The review is expected to run for approximately nine months to a year and will center around the mass market brands, including Suave and Simple. Beauty and personal care account for some 42 percent of the Anglo-Dutch FMCG giant’s sales.
THE WHY? CEO Jope is hoping to maintain his predecessor’s annual growth forecast of 3 to 5 percent despite troubling times in the mass market as consumers continue to plump for private label over branded products or Indie over multinationals.
