The Ghanaian arm of Dutch personal care giant Unilever has received two awards at the first Ghana Expatriate Business Awards, including Top Expatriate Business.
Organised by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the awards were developed to highlight the importance of expatriate businesses and the contribution they have to commerce within Ghana.
Unilever Ghana also scooped the Best in Personal Care and Cosmetic award, with the event recognizing the achievements of expatriate companies from industries such as cosmetics, banking and finance, construction and tourism.
Unilever Ghana’s Managing Director, Ziobeieton Yeo, said, “Our business model which emphasizes making Sustainable Living a commonplace, also ensures that we are not just a profit-making entity, but also a business that has a conscience. We have expressed ourselves through a number of social missions, touching millions of lives and we want to continue to impact the communities we do business in for a long time to come.”
During the awards President of The Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo and the Sector Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, confirmed the country’s dedication to creating the right environment to develop a thriving private sector boosted by foreign investment.
