Unilever launches Positive Beauty Platform to partner with start ups

THE WHAT? Unilever has announced the launch of the Positive Beauty Growth Platform, an initiative which aims to partner with start ups and scale-ups.

THE DETAILS Led by the UK-based FMCG manufacturer’s Beauty & Personal Care division and The Unilever Foundry, the platform will host a series of pitch competitions and entrepreneurial challenges with a view to inviting collaboration from the best start ups and scale-ups.

The platform’s first focus will be social commerce, namely livestream commerce, gaming commerce, shoppable media and group buying.

THE WHY? Sunny Jain, President Beauty & Personal Care, comments, “Collaboration in the mega-trends of the future is a strategic imperative for Unilever. Building a thriving two-way relationship with the global start up community helps power innovation and experimentation, deliver business solutions and fuel growth. The Positive Beauty Growth Platform has been designed to do just that. By harnessing start ups’ disruptive approach, we will help future-proof our brands by pioneering into new spaces shaping the beauty industry.”
