Unilever is actively phasing out the processing of paper invoices across the globe. The Anglo Dutch FMCG giant is working towards a completely electronic invoicing system and, eventually, will no longer accept paper invoices.
The company has partnered with e-invoicing solution provider Tradeshift, which is described as a ‘flexible platform’ that streamlines the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, allowing Unilever to receive, approve and pay invoices without any delay caused by waiting for paper invoices.
Suppliers will be able to send and check their invoices from anywhere, for example on their cellphones or tablets, and track the progress, reducing the need to raise queries with Unilever’s accounts payable service desk.
