Unilever ranks as number one Kenyan employer

Personal care giant Unilever has been ranked the top employer in Kenya for the fourth year running by Top Employer Institute.

The global employer certification organisation gave Unilever the top spot thanks to it advancing employee conditions this year, alongside a number of other companies.

Justin Apsey, Unilever CEO for East Africa, said, “This is an affirmation of Unilever’s commitment to the people and talent agenda through global best practice that strongly resonates across its markets including right here in Kenya.”

Unilever was also given the accolade of third top employer in Africa for the third consecutive year. Companies in the running for the award go through a thorough certification process and are assessed over the following nine areas: talent strategy, workforce planning, on-boarding, learning and development, performance management, leadership development, career & succession management, compensation & benefits, and culture.

The organisation recognises companies that offer benefits such as excellent employee conditions and prime employee practises.
