THE WHAT? Unilever is rumored to be poised to launch a review of its media buying accounts worldwide, according to a report published by Campaign.
THE DETAILS The UK-based FMCG giant dismissed the rumors as ‘speculation’ and declined to comment on its plans.
Its last major marketing review took place in 2017, while for media buying specifically, it’s been more than five years since the owner of Axe shook things up on a global scale.
THE WHY? With its China account awarded to WPP following a review last spring, the manufacturer of Dove could be keen to revisit accounts in other territories, which are currently split between WPP, Omnicom and Interpublic. Having recently announced wide ranging inclusivity commitments, including some pertaining to marketing and suppliers, it could be looking to diversify.
