THE WHAT? Walgreens Boots Alliance has announced three key executive leadership positions. Danielle Gray has been named Executive Vice President and Global Chief Legal Officer for WBA, Tracey Brown appointed to the newly created role of President of Retail Products and Chief Customer Officer for Walgreens and Jeff Gruener joins Walgreens as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
THE DETAILS Gray joins from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina where she served as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary. She will be responsible for supporting the company’s business strategy, goals and mitigating any legal barriers to achieving business objectives.
Until recently, Brown served as CEO for the American Diabetes Association and also lists SVP, Operations and Chief Experience Officer for Walmart / Sam’s Club on her CV. She will be responsible for the Walgreens customer experience across all consumer touchpoints in the newly created position.
Fellow Walmart veteran, Gruener, meanwhile, joins directly from the retail behemoth where he held a number of key leadership roles including SVP of Finance and Strategy, SVP of Merchandising Operations and VP of Finance for Sam’s Club and VP of Global Procurement over his 12-year career at the grocery chain.
