Alibaba-owned Tmall Global is hoping to attract more global brands to its platform with the launch of a series of services designed to support those preparing to launch onto the Chinese market for the first time. The e-commerce platform will offer overseas fulfilment as well as an import program.
“We are constantly upgrading our services and tools we provide to merchants, regardless how big or small, so they can deepen their engagement with the Chinese consumers whose demand for imported products is expected to strengthen in the coming years,” said Alvin Liu, General Manager of Tmall Import & Export.
Tmall Global currently hosts more than 20,000 brands from 77 countries and regions and Alibaba has pledged to bring US$200 billion worth of international goods into China over the next five years through its platforms.
