LG Household & Health Care has reported strong earnings growth for the first quarter of the financial year, according to a report published by The Korea Herald.
The company saw income rise 12.5 percent to KRW180.6 billion, beating analyst estimates and dismissing concerns that the ongoing row over THAAD will hit K-beauty hard.
Sales were up 5.4 percent to KRW1/6 trillion, while operating profit soared 11.3 percent to KRW260 billion, driven in large part by the company’s cosmetics unit, which saw operating profit leap 12.4 percent to KRW176.8 billion.
Within the beauty division, premium lines The History of Whoo and Su:um 37 were the stars, with revenues up 20 and 23 percent respectively.
