THE WHAT? Lush has revealed that it is now processing more than 80 percent of its manufacturing waste via a new £2.3 million recycling plant, according to a report published by the BBC.

THE DETAILS The 40,000 sq ft facility, known as the Green Hub, is capable of processing 500 tonnes of wastewater a year and 20 tonnes of plastic every week. The site has been online for more than a year.

THE WHY? Lush’s Giving, Regenerative Impact & Organisational Development lead, Ruth Andrade told the BBC, “From the early days of the first Green Hub in 2015, it has been about much more than just ways to process materials, it has been about finding the hidden potential in the materials we use.”
