LVMH to boost beauty e-commerce with CNY1 billion Asian hub

THE WHAT? LVMH has begun construction on a new warehousing and sales facility to serve its beauty e-commerce business in the Asia-Pacific region, according to a report published by the Business of Fashion. The site, which is located in Shanghai, is said to be the French luxury goods conglomerate largest in the region.

THE DETAILS Slated for completion by 2022’s close, the new hub spans nine hectare’s and is expected to cost some CNY1 billion to complete.

Fragrance and cosmetics from LVMH’s portfolio of beauty brands will be packaged and dispatched from the facility.

THE WHY? Asia, excluding Japan, accounts for some 45 percent of LVMH’s cosmetics and perfume sales, says the Business of Fashion, and China in particular is instrumental to growth, making ROI a given.
