THE WHAT? Urban Decay has announced the appointment of Normani, G.E.M and singer Camilla Mendes as its new Global Citizens collection, alongside the launch of a new NAKED palette.
THE DETAILS The three women are said to embody the brand’s Pretty Different campaign and are cited as trailblazers ‘that refuse to subscribe to forced norms within their industries, all women champion what makes them unique.’
Wende Zomnir, founding brand partner, said, “Urban Decay was founded on the idea that being authentic and different is beautiful.”
THE WHY? Urban Decay has announced the new brand advocates as the beauty world ramps up action plans to tackle racial inequality in the industry, which follows the global outcry of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Zomnir continues, “We’re so excited to have Normani, G.E.M., and Camila Mendes join our UD family as advocates who constantly push boundaries and inspire their audiences to recognize and embrace individuality, too. As the world fights for racial justice, it’s more important than ever for us to champion self-expression, identity, and diversity. Our UD Global Citizens will add their voices and perspectives as we take actionable steps to amplify diverse voices.”
