THE WHAT? Chanel has bought out a duo of novel formats for its Chance scent, according to a report published by HypeBae.
THE DETAILS The French fashion house has debuted a line of fragrance pencils as well as a hair oil, both available from January 1, 2020.
The fragrance pencils will be sold as a set of four, one for the original scent and one each of Chance’s flanker fragrances while the hair oil is available in Chance Eau Tendre only.
THE WHY? Novel fragrance formats have proven popular with consumers – Mugler’s Perfume Pen sold out almost instantly on launch in 2018 and several big names have since innovated in the space. The pencil format is ideal for travellers thanks to its compact size and lack of liquid, and with travel retail one of beauty’s biggest growth drivers right now, it’s no wonder that Chanel is innovating in this space.
