Chanel set to launch first men’s beauty line Boy de Chanel in South Korea

French beauty house Chanel has announced it is to launch its first men’s beauty range Boy de Chanel in South Korea as of September 1st.

The three-product range will be the company’s first foray into the world of male cosmetics and includes a four-shade tinted fluid, matte moisturizing lip balm and a four-shade eyebrow pencil.

Rolling out worldwide in November via the company’s online site, the make-up line joins Chanel’s existing ‘Boy’ range of products such as perfume and handbags and is named after Boy Capel, the lover and muse of Gabrielle Chanel.

According to a company statement, “Just as Gabrielle Chanel borrowed elements from the men’s wardrobe to dress women, Chanel draws inspiration from the women’s world to write the vocabulary of a new personal aesthetic for men.
“Lines, colors, attitudes, gestures…There is no absolutely feminine or masculine prerequisite: Style alone defines the person we wish to be.”
