THE WHAT? Israel is mulling the possibility of decriminalizing cannabidiol, according to a report published by The Jerusalem Post.
THE DETAILS The Health Ministry is examining the removal of CBD from the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance so health and beauty products containing the ingredient can be marketed in the country.
THE WHY? The WHO has declared CBD ‘generally well tolerated with a good safety profile’ and notes that several countries have modified legislation to allow the sale of CBD=based wellness products. Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz posted on Twitter, per The Jerusalem Post, “We are working to facilitate and open up where possible. Regarding legalization, it is also time to set things free.”
