Johnson & Johnson India has developed its flexible working provisions and sabbatical arrangements programs in a bid to better address the needs of its multi-generation workforce and allow for greater inclusivity and diversity.
As part of the flexible working program, employees can choose to work one day a week from home and/or choose flexible working hours to work alongside their jobs and personal responsibilities.
According to a company statement, “these policy changes reinstate the importance of employees being able to champion work-life integration.”
In an attempt to increase its gender diversity, J&J has also introduced a new program named Nurturing Family Bonds, which works to support expectant mothers from early pregnancy through to after the baby is born. Likewise it places greater emphasis on fathers as they become increasingly active in a newborn’s life.
The sabbatical arrangements program has also been launched, which allows employees time off work to pursue personal goals such as further education.
