THE WHAT? LVMH has named Helene Valade as its new Environmental Development Director, according to a report published by WWD.
THE DETAILS Valade succeeds Sylvie Benard, who is due to retire later this year, and will report to Antoine Arnault who will oversee the department henceforth. Benard will work with her successor to ensure a smooth transition.
Valade joins the French luxury group from Suez, where she held the role of Director of Sustainable Development.
THE WHY? LVMH is ramping up its eco-friendly credentials. “Respect for the environment is an essential subject for the group. It’s one of our priorities for the coming years and it was important for a member of the family to be in this role and to represent that commitment,” Arnault told WWD.
