THE WHAT? THG has issued a statement contradicting a report that was published in The Telegraph newspaper that claimed Unilever was withholding stock of its Dermalogica line over concerns about discounting on THG’s e-commerce sites, per a Reuters article.
THE DETAILS The UK-based owner of LookFantastic told Reuters that it wasn’t aware of any key beauty brand reducing supply to its Beauty arm.
“Dermalogica has not placed and is not looking to place any restrictions on its trading relationship with THG Beauty, including with regard to supply of stock,” the company said in a statement, per Reuters.
THE WHY? Following The Telegraph’s report, shares fell to a new low of 102 pence, a far cry from the 838p price seen last January, making THG’s speedy denial understandable. Unilever declined to comment when contacted by Reuters.
