Unilever HQ gets council greenlight

THE WHAT? Unilever’s proposed new headquarters is one step closer to fruition after plans were given the go-ahead by the Royal London borough of Kingston upon Thames, according to a report published by City AM.

THE DETAILS The South West London local authority will rubber stamp the first phase of the Cube Real Estate and Hathway Opportunity Fund’s plans to demolish the majority of the existing buildings on site and construct two new office buildings.

THE WHY? Unilever’s Hive and Honey buildings will enable the FMCG giant to consolidate 2,000 employees, currently spread across five sites, in one single location.
