THE WHAT? British Airways is looking to offer consumers pre-flight COVID-19 testing in a bid to boost consumer confidence, with UK personal care and beauty retailer Boots said to be a potential partner, according to Business Traveller.
THE DETAILS While the company won’t be enforcing the tests for all flights, a move made by Emirates and Etihad, it is looking at offering it for those travelling to countries that require it.
Boots is said to be an attractive collaboration prospect due to its parent company Walgreens, paving the way for testing in both the UK and the U.S.
THE WHY? Taking to its website, British Airways said, “We are currently discussing the possibility of helping our customers access pre-flight testing through third parties if their destination requires this, however no plans have been finalised. We will share more in due course.”
