THE WHAT? RMS Beauty has announced the appointment of Lauren Chisholm as its new Chief Operating Officer, while Elaine Sack has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, as the company continues to eye further growth.
THE DETAILS Chisholm, a former consultant for brands such as NYX Cosmetics and Anastasia Beverly Hills, is being tasked with strengthening the company’s current retail partnerships with the likes of Sephora, Credo, Bluemercury and nordstrom.com.
RMS Beauty has 10 planned launches for the coming year, a handful of which will be exclusive to Sephora due to the retailer’s ramped up Clean at Sephora campaign, which has tripled its list of banned ingredients to 25.
Chisholm said, “The depth of the brand and the product assortment, which is so built-out for a clean beauty brand, and the heritage of Rose-Marie, those are things that drew me in as a consultant. With RMS, there is a rabid, loyal, cult following, so the potential for the brand is enormous.”
THE WHY? The restructuring at the top signals the company’s desire to boost its sustainability credentials as it looks to expand during 2020.
Discussing the upcoming launch of a new fall collection that has a sustainability angle, Sacks said, “This is where our quest for innovation has matched up with our values for why we have a clean brand and what we want to do with the environment in mind.
“Before RMS, there was mineral makeup, but Rose-Marie is the pioneer of clean beauty. This is taking that notion and reinventing her next vision, which is better sustainability that benefits the consumer as well.”
